Beginning with a lecture on Art Conservation and Caring for Your Family Heirlooms, you will learn tips for storing and displaying your treasured items to ensure their well-being for decades to come. The lecture will be followed by a question and answer session with the art conservator. Attendees may bring a personal item for discussion (limit: one per person).
About the Speaker: Nicole Grabow is the Director of Preventive Conservation at the Midwest Art Conservation Center (MACC), a non-profit Minneapolis-based organization providing conservation treatments and consultations for hundreds of collecting institutions including fine art museums, historical societies, universities, Native cultural centers, city governments, libraries, archives, and the public. Nicole has been with MACC since 2006 and is an experienced objects conservator and presenter. She has provided training on a variety of collections care and conservation topics for museum and archives professionals across the country.
