Description

SPPS Community Education: Read Brave: Water Protectors Book Club - Online Course

Ages 4-6. Online Course: Do you care about Mother Earth? Do you want to protect her and make a difference in your community? Come read the incredible, Caldecott Medal winning We Are Water Protectors book with us and take the Water Protectors Pledge. This book was chosen as one of St. Paul Public Library’s Read Brave books for 2021 because it centers on themes relevant to our St. Paul Community. We will be partnering with Lower Phalen Creek Project to learn about Dakota history, learn some important words in the Dakota language, and most importantly, learn what we can do to become Water Protectors in our very own communities.

*This class comes with a free kit, which will include the book and supplies for class activities, to be picked up at Rondo community Library the week before class. Specific details will be emailed out ahead of time.

**This class is offered at no cost through a partnership with Saint Paul Public Libraries, Lower Phalen Creek Project, and SPPS Community Education. If you are able, please consider donating to Lower Phalen Creek Project to help with their environmental efforts! https://www.lowerphalencreek.org/donate
