The book “Freak The Mighty” is about two neighbours that meet each other, and are both different but also similar in ways. Furthermore, they both have disabilities. One is super tall and strong, the other is super short and weak. While Max (the tall one) has a learning disability, Kevin (the short one) wears leg braces. After talking and becoming closer, they start going on quests. They refer to the quests as "Freak the mighty". They both end up bonding really well because they can relate to each other. They both have problems at school. While Max gives Kevin a helping hand when he can’t reach something or is too weak for it, Kevin helps Max with his studies that he is struggling with. Kevin also helps Max stand up for himself when he is quiet. Overtime they become great friends. They also have to face many problems together, especially Max and his insecurities about his father, and his past. People bully Max, referring to his father as “Killer Kane” and Kevin helps Max get over his sadness. They both learn lots of life lessons from each other. Since both of them have lots of struggles in different ways, one helps the other in different circumstances. And they try to think through problems together. Upon reflection, I think this book is good because it teaches you lots of life lessons as well as it being enjoyable, the conflict is interesting and the book really catches your attention, because of the events that take place. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is 10 years old all the way through 17 years old. I think that this book specifically can teach lots of lessons to these age ranges, since it shows the point of view of two unique people in a school, in addition to it having lots of life lessons for a student.

This is probably my all time favourite book; I honestly could not say how many times I’ve read it. It has so many little lessons, and truly teaches one not to judge a book by its cover.
I would highly suggest that everyone add this to the top of their reading list, no matter your age.

This tale of unlikely friendship is uplifting without being unbelievable or cheesy.

One of my all time favorite children's books, great for adults as well. Middle school is hard enough, but when you have a disability to boot, life gets pretty rough. Amazing story of how two such teenage boys combine their strengths to form a close friendship and challenge the bullies around them. Must read!

Really good book. As good as the movie. Highly recommend, for teens and up. I am a grandmother and I hope I can get my grandsons to read it. It does have a sad ending, but life is not all happy, happy, happy. Lots of learning happens.

I liked Freak the Mighty because it was about one guy who's 8 Ft and Freak who's 2 Ft. The ending was sucky.
