The conclusion of McMurtry's Texas saga which began with the Last Picture Show. The novel begins with Duane, now 65, returning from a trip overseas which he hoped would ease the pain of his wife's death. Into the office walks Annie, a beautiful young woman who soon puts Duane's aging sexuality to the test. A quirky, funny read, without a touch of sentimentality, and a sexual frankness not to everyone's taste.

A very enjoyable read. McMurtry is an excellent writer and his characters are likeable and amusing. Fun.

Humm, - I haven't read L.M. in a long time . I'll try the prequel to this - might be better . Not the best , Larry ! But I don't want to give up on you - however ,at age 70 , I don't need a how to sex manual . Feels like you're writing to sell books to men - sorry !
