Gillian and David have been at this since the late 90's,and have shown flashes of greatness on previous releases (Time the Revelator 2001or Soul Journey 2003).But this is the release where Gillian and David really put it together, this is a well written and played record, and I just loved every minute of it. I had the privilege to see them perform this release live, and it comes across very well live, their beautiful harmonies, and simple but powerful playing are a thing of beauty to behold.

Have recently discovered Welch and her musical partner, the superb guitarist David Rawlings. I love folk music and it is a pleasure to hear it rendered with the purity of skill, banjo/guitar and soul.

Welch's long-anticipated new album doesn't disappoint: it is arguably as good as anything else she has done to date, which is saying a lot. Brilliant songwriting, gorgeous musicianship.
