This is the memoir of the once sought-after sexy siren who appeared in hip-hop music videos. Karrine transitioned to film when director F. Gary Gray picked her to costar in his film A Man Apart, starring Vin Diesel. But the movie and music video sets, swanky Miami and New York restaurants, and trysts with celebrities featured in celebrity magazines only skim the surface of Karrine's life. This memoir--part tell-all, part cautionary tale--shows how she came to be the confidante of so many, why she kept their secrets, and how she found herself in Hollywood after a life marked by physical abuse, rape, and drugs--all before she was twenty-six. By sharing her story, she hopes to shed light on an otherwise romanticized industry.--From publisher description.

Interesting tell-all book.

I really enjoyed reading this novel. I am glad that I own a copy of the book, and I plan to read it again. Karrine gives the reader an insight on the hip-hop industry and she doesn't sugar coat anything. She also gives young women advice on self-esteem, and how women should value themselves more and not allow men to use them as sex objects. I strongly recommend this book.

I just recently read an article that a substantial amount of information in this book is false. And this is according to the author, herself. I guess one can assume that the names of these famous men were a lie and we, as the readers, were hoodwinked. That sucks!!! And this was after i read what i considered to be an interesting book. This is how i felt about this book before the article. During and after i read this book, i wondered how the men felt about her writting details of how they were in bed and their names. Were they happy or proud to be mentioned in a book that did well on the New York Times best sellers list? She certainly held back very little about her past and her sexual liasons with very famous men. My friend told me the difference between her and the average woman that does have sex with mutiple men is the men she had sex with are famous. Maybe so. Maybe that's the reason why i read this book. To get the dirt everyone was talking about. And there's plenty in this book. I will admit reading about her past was sad and i can see why she chosed to do what she did. Opportunity came knocking and she flung the door wide open. It's an interesting book of the choices she made and the well known people she met. I give this book 4 stars. The gumption to name famous people, the success she gained with her skills and opportunity. Bustello, a toasted bagle with butter and jelly.
