Made with almost no money this is good movie. I don’t know if it would be without Kenny Johnson, but the director is a smart aesthetic guy and I wouldn’t be surprised if his resourcefulness as a creative wouldn’t conquer the problem. -— Didn’t know Kenny had it in him, but he WAS a solid OK in “The Shield”. -— This George A Pappy Jr, the director, sounds (on commentary) like he has the right soul-stuff to be a creative warrior in today’s miasma of creativity. He knows he can use or do anything and MAKE IT WORK. He used his own cars, found guerrilla locations, friend-actors for example. The Great Work is very well upon us all now and so are the new options (didn’t mean that pun?). Steve Jobs got us where we are, and will be for a while, and anyone can do anything now, literally. It used to be more virtual. But it’s the attitude that wins the day and Pappy has it. (He’s also an electrical engineer and works w/satellites.) For ever we’ve all lived in the ‘valley’ where the gatekeeper says what; now some can live on the mountain and THEY choose. This goes for anything creative one wants to do. The spirit of the process is what we’re all after and it can ALWAYS find its own way. -— Btw, the dvd design, always lacking, here has more problems: very hard to have or delete the commentary; I had to try it many times at random and still couldn’t get the deleted scenes w/o comm. THOSE DAMN DVD DESIGNERS ARE A REAL DRAG ON DVDS!
