A simple, yet interesting book with tiny twists. Like BloomFree I'm also a cat lover, and enjoy Oscar's insights of the cats he lives with. I'm happy Oscar became friends with Callie.

A simple yet deep book. If there were more pictures, this would make an excellent children's book to introduce them to the world.

As a cat lover, I enjoyed reading Oscar's insights and perceptions of the many cats he lived with. I am not clear if there is a friendship or romance with the young girl but it felt like a good example of a caring and healthy relationship.

Eleven-year-old Oscar likes the quiet routine of working for the magician, Master Caleb, where he can work with plants instead of people. When a plague strikes the city and a new magic prowls the island, Oscar’s world shatters. Now one small boy may hold the answers to saving the city.
