"Kangaroo isn't your typical spy. Sure, he has extensive agency training, access to bleeding-edge technology, and a ready supply of clever (to him) quips and retorts. But what sets him apart is "the pocket." It's a portal that opens into an empty, seemingly infinite, parallel universe, and Kangaroo is the only person in the world who can use it. But he's pretty sure the agency only keeps him around to exploit his superpower. After he bungles yet another mission, Kangaroo gets sent away on a mandatory "vacation:" an interplanetary cruise to Mars. While he tries to make the most of his exile, two passengers are found dead, and Kangaroo has to risk blowing his cover. It turns out he isn't the only spy on the ship--and he's just starting to unravel a massive conspiracy which threatens the entire Solar System. Now, Kangaroo has to stop a disaster which would shatter the delicate peace that's existed between Earth and Mars ever since the brutal Martian Independence War. A new interplanetary conflict would be devastating for both sides. Millions of lives are at stake. Weren't vacations supposed to be relaxing?"-- Provided by publisher.

This book and Kangaroo Too are a great read (did the first in one sitting)
Very different and not to be missed even if you do not like spies or sci-fi.

If a sci fi novel and spy thriller had a funny baby, it's this book. Kangaroo is hilarious and twisty, plus it's always fun to have a pocket universe as a stash.

I picked this up on an impulse, and was very pleasantly surprised. This is a very engaging humorous sci-fi tale about a protagonist with a portable hole (shades of Bugs Bunny!) that he can store things in, retrieving them as he needs them. For a galactic spy, nothing could be handier.

A very well written novel, this lighthearted jaunt was extremely readable and satisfied completely. Shades of both space opera and spy novel combine for a winning read. I immediately read the sequel, Kangaroo Too, and am now impatiently waiting for the next instalment.

A very fun sci-fi novel about a spy with a unique ability to open a portal to a pocket universe on a forced vacation to Mars. Of course he is not good at being a tourist, of course things are not going according to plan and of course the pocket universe will have to be put to use. Enjoy the ride!

Another happy accidental find--was returned to desk while I was on duty. If you enjoy your futuristic fiction with plenty of laughs you'll enjoy this new author's first entry. I look forward to more adventures with Kangaroo.
