"Kay Powell wants to find that break-out client who will become a star. And she thinks she's found him: His name is Bruno, and he has to be walked three times a day. Bruno's humans, Trent and Louise, butt in a lot, and Les McMaster, the famous director now mounting a revival of Annie, might not hire Bruno just because he can't stand Trent in particular. That becomes less of an issue when Trent is discovered face down in Bruno's water dish. With a kitchen knife in his back. Laugh-out-loud funny, this series debut is a delight"-- Provided by publisher.

First title in Copperman's "Agent to the Paws" series. A humorous cozy, which introduces Kay Powell, whose background growing up in a theatrical family and love of animals provides her with a unique - and often funny - viewpoint. Kay is engaging, the theatrical setting is solid fun and bk 2 (Bird, Bath and Beyond) is even better.

Frustrating, as it is impossible for the reader to solve the mystery. The canine star of the adventure is a lovable mutt throughout the whole book, and is described in only the most general terms. Then, just as ALL IS REVEALED, Ta-Da! No WONDER everyone was after him!!
Annoying, and leaves the reader (this reader, anyway) feeling cheated.

I love this author, but this new series is a bust.
