Can't resist a book with a chapter titled "The Case of the Missing Spaceship." Just a ton of fun, and a crazy innovative approach to an early reader.

I liked this book because it was funny and easy to read. It reminded me of my sister and how she likes to be a detective. I liked that the pictures had a lot of detail. Joshua
I liked this book because it was funny and easy to read. It was funny because he put on his pants randomly. I liked this book because it was a long book, but easy to read. Jonny
I liked this book because it was funny, exciting, and it's cool. What made it cool was when he was solving cases and a detective, and he liked snacks, just like how I like snacks. Dominic
I liked the book because it was exciting and a book about being a detective. I liked it that he was solving stuff and I Iiked how it took him a long time to put his pants on and how he loved to eat snacks because it was funny. Liam

I loved this book because it was funny. It was cute. It reminded me of my baby brother who is funny and cute. Zainab

I liked this book because Baby Monkey is someone who solves mysteries. In the end he finds his mother. It's funny when he keeps growing and he struggles to get in his pants. Isabella

A 2018-2019 Epic Reads pick for grades 1-3. When King Viking and his evil robot army attack Animal Town, and kidnap Singing Dog, it is up to Super Rabbit Boy, with some help from Sunny and his video game console, to save the day.

A chunky, beautiful books that will leave the littles feeling oh so satisfied with having read through it all. Baby Monkey, Private eye is charming, repetitive, and surprising, with ever wonderful illustrations. Good for new readers looking for a quirky new friend.

My preschooler caught on to the pattern of this story and it helped him feel like a confident reader when retelling the tale (mostly through context clues the pictures provided). The pictures are adorable and I love that it's such a big book for a beginning reader--it builds confidence and willingness to try other bigger books. Highly recommended!

An excellent first chapter book for a beginning reader, and also older reluctant readers! Brian Selznick's signature pencil drawn illustrations from Hugo Cabret paired with simple text bring this hilarious new story to life. Highly recommended!

What could be better than a baby monkey trying to put on pants and solving crimes?! And make sure to check out the key in the back.

Brian Selznick of "The Invention of Hugo Cabret" fame has created a book for the younger reader, who won't believe they just read a chapter book. Use the key in the back to become your own private eye.

Baby Monkey is a private eye with a knack for finding lost things and a hunger for snacks! Perfect for very young readers just starting out and I also think it would hold a toddler's attention. The illustrations are adorable and engaging—I counted at least 24 drawings of Baby Monkey putting on pants, and I still wanted more. In addition, there are hidden Easter eggs in the office drawing in each chapter, that you can look for each time re-read it. This is one cute Baby Monkey!
