such a sweet book it made me sad for all the children who won't know this innocence: playing outside, exploring, making up games.
there may never be more moffats or penderwicks

My 12 and now 13 year old granddaughter have been enjoying this series from the beginning. What wonderfully written books with full, rich characters, wonderful story lines and enough twists and turns (and laughter) to anyone interested. Ms. Birdsall uses such expressive words. We are sad to see the series end, but am looking forward to more from the Penderwicks. I highly recommend this series.

Dearly loved all the Penderwick books and this one takes us back where it all started and launches a new generation of friendships. There are pets galore, wedding planning and more. . . Such an outstanding middle grade series!

This book is awesome, exciting, and full of adventure and heart. I only have one problem with this book, and that's the third to fifth lines on page 158. Anyone know what Dusek said to Skye on page 279? Please translate it for me, please.

I only have one word for this book: AWESOME! Unlike other books, this book has many important scenes. This book has just the right amount of story to it. If it was too short, then the story would probably have been a little boring. If it was too long, then the story would drag and the readers would eventually get tired of what the author is trying to explain. Sometimes I do get confused with who is who, with so many siblings and relatives, but always, in the end, it would become clear and making sense. This book is about friendship, trust, and love. This book would probably be appropriate for all ages, because it is understandable and the grammar isn't too hard. I recommend this book to be read, and I hope you would enjoy it too.

I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH! My sister and I started it the day it came out at 6 am and finished the same day (SPOILERS AHEAD)

Love everything except for Skeffery didn't become a couple :(

But the rest was awesome! Great conclusion!

If there are kids in your life who haven't discovered the Penderwicks yet, there couldn't be a better time to introduce them, because this is the fifth and final book. And it is lovely -- familiar characters are revisited, old themes are touched on in clever ways, and the entire book feels like a fitting close to what may well be my favorite kids' series this decade. Is it my absolute favorite of the five books? Perhaps not, but I found that it didn't really matter; this series has always felt greater than the sum of its parts, and each book is strengthened by the ones that have come before it. If you want to read about family and love and friendship and growing up and sisters and the sense of endless possibility that exists when you're a kid on a sunny summer afternoon -- read this book. Read the four that preceded it. And feel lucky that books like this exist in the world, and that we got five of them.
