"When Jessica Farris signs up for a psychology study conducted by the mysterious Dr. Shields, she thinks all she'll have to do is answer a few questions, collect her money, and leave. But as the questions grow more and more intense and invasive and the sessions become outings where Jess is told what to wear and how to act, she begins to feel as though Dr. Shields may know what she's thinking...and what she's hiding."-- Provided by publisher.

I had high expectations after TWBU, but "An Anonymous Girl" fell flat for me. I kept waiting for the story build-up to go some where, but there was no twist or climax that blew me away. I also didn't feel there was any conclusions to many of the story plots (Jess' family, Noah, April's mom).

Not a BAD book, but not one that gave me the "wow" factor Greer Hendricks first book did.

Bonus 1/2 star for a character named April - it's fun to read your name in a book!

Amazing book that is hard to put down. Chilling story about a woman in a college pscyh study and the professor who is running it. Highly recoomend

I could not stop reading this book! It's addictive and fast-paced. The twists and turns are even more intense because of the alternating, unreliable narrators. You don't know who to trust until the end. Clear your schedule and get ready for your newest obsession.

Really captivating start but the storyline kind of plateaued midway. The "twist" was very predictable and I kept on hoping for something a bit more shocking in the end.

My oh my what a wonderful thriller! This novel had me hooked from the get-go! This story will make you think twice before signing up for a research study!

An Anonymous Girl is a wild ride and you better hold on to your seat! The characters were very well developed and Jessica's character, though naive, was somewhat relate-able. I could feel her desperation, confusion, and fear.

There were many twist and turns and I felt the novel kept me engaged and excited to read the next chapter consistency throughout. It never seemed too slow or too fast with the pacing. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire read.

I was very surprised that a duo of authors created a story that flowed so seamlessly. Hendricks and Pekkanen are not authors I have read before, but I loved how their writings meshed so well. I have already added some of their other books to my list of books to read ASAP! It was a 5 star read for me!

Thanks to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for allowing me an eARC to read and give my honest review.

Excellent, I couldn't put it down! The buildup, suspense, and twists are very well done, pulled me in right from the start. I've been disappointed in a few books lately, so I was relieved to find one that made up for all the duds.

This book will grab you within the first few pages. The multi story line really brought this home for me. I loved the detail in this book. These authors skills to bring emotion into words is powerful.

Compulsively readable, twisty, and surprising, this much hyped suspense novel centers on two main characters who are not all too likable, but incredibly interesting subjects to watch. The story loses marks in the believe-ability category, but makes up for it in being different and suspenseful.

Well played out story about a young woman who joined a research study to make some extra cash. Slowly and mysteriously the subject got sucked in to a web of creepy deceit. But who was doing the deceiving? Morals and truth are exemplified. Nicely done!

You're never sure who the bad guy is in this book which makes it a fun read, but honestly I found it a bit far fetched. If you love an unreliable narrator, then you should check this out for sure.
