Yes. 1960's "The Sundowners" (whose story was set in the early 20th century) did contain some really good location shooting in the wide-open Australian countryside. Yes. It did. Indeed. But, on the other hand - When it came around to actor, Robert Mitchum (my #1 favorite "Film Noir" tough guy) playing a poor, Irish sheep drover - Well - I just could not, for the life of me, accept him in the role of Paddy Carmody at all. No. I couldn't. Anyway - This 2-hour-13-minute story concerning the trials and tribulations of the less-than-glamorous Carmody family (and their clever dog, Ollie) was fairly entertaining as far as family-oriented pictures go.
