The Book of Joy
The Book of Joy Lasting Happiness in A Changing World By Bstan-ʼdzin-rgya-mtsho, Dalai Lama XIV, 1935- Book - 2016

This book wholeheartedly deserves 5 stars! Picking up this book is something you will definitely not regret; this insightful read is full of humor, intelligent dialogue, and teaches you to be a better person in the process. It focuses on how to find a happier purpose in life and to bring yourself contentedness by enjoying the little things around you. Its teachings are especially applicable in a modern society where loneliness is an epidemic. This book can help us regain the parts we as a society are lacking; we value money over happiness and gaining fame over gaining meaningful bonds. These two great leaders, the Archbishop and the Dalai Lama, are both extraordinary people and they have cultivated their joy and compassion despite both facing great hardships in the form of apartheid and a forceful exile. This book has left a lasting impact on me, and I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to live a happier lifestyle.
