Celebrate Disability Pride Month: Teen Fiction & Nonfiction
Disability Pride Month is an annual celebration of disability pride, resilience, and visibility in remembrance of the passing of Americans with Disability Act on July 26th, 1990. Disability Pride Month celebrates the idea that people are proud of their identity and community. These YA stories vary in tone from the humorous to the thoughtful and are set in middle schools and high schools as well other planets and dimensions entirely. Some of these are OwnVoices and some are not, but all of them explore figuring out who you are and the intersectionality of disability and identity. (J.B.)
