Celebrate Disability Pride Month: Kids Fiction & Nonfiction
Disability Pride Month is an annual celebration of disability pride, resilience, and visibility in remembrance of the passing of Americans with Disability Act on July 26th, 1990. Disability Pride Month celebrates the idea that people are proud of their identity and community. These are stories for younger and chapter book readers. Some of these stories are OwnVoices, but all of them feature children living with disabilities (visible and invisible) while they make friends, play, learn, dance, fly kites, and explore their worlds.
